Introducing the Carefree

Introducing the carefree the term is used in the multicopter.
This feature will be added to the Naviboard firmware v2.1.

There is quadcopter as follow.

It control the multicopter for back and forth from side to side, it use the aileron and elevator in transmitter.

In the figure above, if you want to move forward in the A direction, push the elevator stick up.
If you want to move backward in the B direction, pull the elevator stick down.
If you want to move left in the direction of C, the aileron stick is pushed to the left.


But If a rotation of 45 degrees to the left like the figure above, How do you control?
If push the elevator stick up, it is flying A' direction not A direction.
Therefore, if you want to backward the B direction, the control is a bit complicated.
Pull the elevator stick down a little and the aileron stick push a little to the left also.

In the figure above, must control a little more complicated.
If the elevator up, it is going the left in the C direction.
The aileron stick is pushed to the right in order to move in the A direction.

In the above figure, it is much harder to control.
Not the elevator stick push up in order to move in the A direction,the elevator goes down to the opposite direction.
It should control in the opposite direction unlike the usual way.
It doesn't push the aileron to left in order to move left in the C direction,should be pushed to right.

Therefore, carefree is for beginners who is poor at RC control.
In other words,It can comfortably fly regardless of direction heading of a multicopter.



To use this function, control firstly in the direction of the headings you want to move the multicopter and the transmitter's 9channel in only 2'nd possition, the Carefree ON function is activated.
For your information,9 channel in 2'nd position channel only (Central) in the previous version (v2.0), the function turn heading to home at coming home but, this fuction has been eliminated from v2.1 and there is "waypoint" or "follow me" in 3'rd position of 9 channel.

As shown above figure, carefree ON function,if elevator up, it goes to A direction.
For C to the left in the direction of the aileron is pushing the left.
QuadCopter works like a XCopter.


If move the elevator stick to up as shown above figure, goes to A direction when the elevator stick move up.
If you want to move reft in the direction of C,the aileron is pushing the left.


As shown above figure, goes to A direction when the elevator stick move up in hovering.
If you want to move reft in the direction of C,the aileron is pushing the left .



This function is a very useful about aerial photograph shotting the front when the multicopter goes to forward in the A direction with mounting a camera on the front, even if you shoot the multicopter to rotate by using rudder, the multicopter is to move in the A direction always is up to the elevator.
And pull down the elevator to back to the pilot's location.(B direction)

But, the Carefree is not all around function.
If you do circular flight, turning the carefree functionality must be OFF.
If you proceed with the direction and progress in a different direction Carefree OFF and then you must ON when turned again to progression direction.

Let's look at the situation as shown in the figure below.



Described so far as the direction of the multicopter like the middle of it in the situation set A direction carefree function was used.
But, it is assumed the situation that is located on the left side of the front of pilot or on the right side of the front of pilot.
If pull down the elevator in this figure, where does it go?
The correct answer is B direction.
The pilots who confused maybe B' direction, please clean up the concept again.

A piolt has nothing to do with the direction of looking at the multicopter.
He transmitter of the stick response based on the direction of the multicopter at the time of carefree function using.
